French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf sourdough or brioche bread

  • 8-9 eggs

  • 2 cups milk (protein fortified optional)

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup Tap That Maple Sugar

Topping

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup Tap That Maple Sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and place in a 9 X 13 inch baking dish.

  2. In a bowl mix eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and sugar.  Pour evenly over bread.  

  3. Cover the dish and let refrigerate for 4 hours.

  4. To make topping combined flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt in a bowl.  Cut in cold butter.

  5. Unwrap baking dish and sprinkle topping over bread.

  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
