Maple Cookies- version 2

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup Tap That Maple Sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup Tap That Maple Syrup

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp maple extract

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 4 cups all purpose flour

Maple Icing

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs, syrup, vanilla and maple extract and combined well.

  3. Add flour, salt and baking soda.  Combined well.

  4. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheets.  Option to roll in granular sugar before baking.

  5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes and let cool on wire racks.

  6. For icing- in a small saucepan melt butter and maple syrup together.  Whisk in a pinch of salt and powdered sugar.  Drizzle over cooled cookies.  Icing can take up to 1 hour to set.
