
Maple Pecan Cookies
Ingredients

2 1/3 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup Tap That Maple Syrup sugar

1 egg
-
1/3 cup Tap That Maple Syrup

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp maple extract

1 cup chopped pecan
Maple Icing

2 tbsp unsalted butter
-
1/3 cup maple syrup
-
1 cup powdered sugar

Pinch of salt, to taste
Instructions

In a medium bowl whisk flour, baking soda and salt together. Set aside.

Using a hand mixer in a separate bowl, cream butter and maple sugar together until smooth. Add eggs until combined. Add maple syrup, vanilla extract and maple extract until combined.

Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix to combined. Add pecans and fold into the dough. Cover and chill for 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Roll chilled dough into balls and place on cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Remove from oven and let cool.

Make the icing in a saucepan by melting butter and maple syrup together. Add in pinch of salt and whisk powered sugar. Drizzle while icing is warm on cookies. Icing will set within one hour.
